The AWC GS was formed for the promotion of golf, of any standard, within the AWC.
The society has been in existence for many years and enjoys a thriving membership of golfers from the amateur professional to the once a month thrasher.
Subscription is nine payments of £9.50 (from Jan to Sep), a small sum to pay for the top class golf on offer. Each year the competitions range from the all day Thales Spring Championships, Logica AWC Championships, DRS Presidents Cup and Doubles meetings to the Monthly Stablefords. There is also a singles competition and plate competition played during the year, giving members a chance to play some Match Play golf.
All the away days and stablefords are held at some of the regions top courses and because of the way the subscriptions are divided up, there is normally a substantial subsidy along with some excellent prizes.
